So You Want To Be A Male Porn Star?

It’s a Monday morning and I’m sitting on my deck enjoying some Cafe Verona as I fire up Twitter. As is often the case, I check my @ messages and low and behold the number one question of all time is staring back at me begging for a response. This scene repeats itself on Tuesday and again every day for…. well the past two years!

I think it’s time to answer this singularly most common question:

“I’ve been a male fan for <insert time> and I really want to be in porn. Attached is a photo of my cock, it’s huge can you help?”

Rather than make you wait to the end of this article, I’ll get right to the heart of the question. This is MY suggestion and may not be what others would recommend. So take it for what it is… My opinion.

 1. Research a Stage Name

I can’t believe how many men and women have to change their stage names because they did not take the time to research how the one they “have to have” is currently being used. If someone pops on the scene using Brandi Love it constitutes a federal trademark violation. So research your name!

2. Purchase Your Name as a Domain

This is how the world works. When you tell them the name of your business which in this case is you … they go to their search engine of choice and look you up. Having your own domain is the professional thing to do. It says “I’m serious about this & have the smarts to get it going”

3. Go Get Tested

You could make a case for this being the #1 item. But I’m going to leave it here because the first two are good practice for every potential business endeavor. You MUST go and get tested through Talent Testing Service. If you have have a STD then you will need to rethink your next step at a minimum. Please remember that a two week test is always required to shoot.

4. Get Some Experience

For men, I always suggest finding a LOCAL “pornstar” who has a website. They sometimes need male talent. This represents a mutually beneficial scenario. You need experience & you MIGHT prove to be useful talent for her. You should go into this conversation expecting very little in terms of payment. I say this not out of arrogance but reality .. I can walk outside and shout ” Who wants to fuck” … I’ll have 3-4 guys willing to give it a shot. A guy with big cock + the willingness to fuck a pornstar makes you ….. wait for it ……. just one of millions.

When you introduce yourself to this LOCAL “pornstar” do so politely and honestly. The reality is, braggarts NEVER have a chance with me. I may be polite but the truth is I don’t deed that in my life. As far as making contact, I would recommend these vehicles:

a. Twitter:   Twitter is extremely popular, for good reason with adult entertainers. Twitter, unlike Facebook actually supports freedom of speech. I would recommend contacting them via a DM. Don’t post it on their public timeline.

 b. Email : do some research and find out the entertainers email. It’s often listed on their Twitter or on their website. If all else fails try:

 ModelsFirstName@TheirDomain.com

Example: Brandi @ Brandi Love .com

 c. Phone:  NEVER. AND I REPEAT NEVER RESEARCH AN ENTERTAINERS PHONE NUMBER AND CALL IT. IT’S CREEPY. IT MAKES US FEEL STALKED. IT WILL ENSURE YOU NEVER GET A CHANCE. AND THE FACT THAT YOU CALLED WILL SPREAD LIKE WILDFIRE AMONGST THE COMMUNITY OF PERFORMERS.

 d. Be Reasonably Persistent: Entertainers lead very busy lives. We work 5-6 days a week and many of us also enjoy our families as well as an active social schedule. If we do not respond right away, do not take offense. I would recommend a weekly follow up until you hear something one way or the other. Please note that an increasing level of agitation in your email will only lead to most of saying no or continuing to ignore your emails. Maintain the same level of politeness, even if you need to send weekly messages for a year. I have had guys send me 7-8 messages in one day only to end up calling me a stupid bitch for failure to respond. I don’t often respond to my own husband in the same day due to my schedule. You are far less important. Remember that.

4. Ask for a Referral:

Once you have worked with your LOCAL adult entertainer, for her site, I would ask her for her written recommendation. Better yet, write one out for her and ask if she would be willing to sign off on it. If you do go that route be sure to allow her to modify as she chooses.

 THIS IS A CRITICAL STEP.

Here in NC, I held three open casting calls for male talent. They were awful, hilarious, frustrating and sad. Every youngster with a big dick showed up thinking he was going to show me the time of my life …. until he was standing in front of five people under bright lights plus three cameras and told to strip , get himself hard and cum on command. Out of thirty guys who showed up we had two that could actually PERFORM. The agencies,  studios and Pornstars in LA have ZERO tolerance for this…. I mean ZERO. I wouldn’t want to be a guy in the adult entertainment industry for anything.

This is why a recommendation is so critical and why the gratis performances with your local entertainer are so critical. You now have visual and written proof that you can indeed PERFORM.

5. I Will Not Pull Strings For You:

My father always said : Find something you love to do and then find someone to pay you for it and you’ll never work a day in your life” . I have found this to be true … to an extent. I do in fact love the sexuality … the art of film making & the actual sex. But this represents 3-45 min of an 8-10 hour day on set. Please understand that. A scene is an 8-10 hour day.

I continue to work very hard to build my brand, it is extremely important to me. I put 10 hours a day easy between scenes, Twitter, my website, emails, photo shoots, appearances, travel, feature dancing , live cams etc . I will not risk that for anyone.

6. Contact an Agency:

There are a number of terrific agencies that handle male talent. You will need to contact them and make your case. Here is a list of those I can personally recommend:

 1. 101 Modeling

2. ATMLA

3. OC Modeling

4. LA Direct

I will do a much more in depth article covering the joy’s and challenges for male adult entertainers in the near future but al least this gets you started!

Good Luck!
